DSM has integrated eco-profiling into its free online tool the Sunscreen Optimizer. DSM's Sunscreen Optimizer is a free tool allowing every formulator to develop the most efficient sunscreen formulation by optimizing the existing one before going into a large number of in vivo SPF measurements. With the upgraded the Sunscreen Optimizer 2.0 you can evaluate the environmental friendliness of your formulations using a science-based method on market and SPF benchmarking; save time and expense by assessing the trade-off between eco-friendliness, costs and sensory factors; and share your results immediately with your co-workers and adjust your products in real time. The all-in-one tool is open to all of DSM’s current and future partners and available free of charge.
